Cardinals manager Tony La Russa is impressed.
The Giants opened a three-game series in St. Louis with a 10-0 victory, arguably their most one-sided victory of the season.
“They’ve got something good going on,” said La Russa, who recently became the third manager to win 2,500 games. “(Manager) Bruce (Bochy) does a good job. (They have) real good coaches, and they are tough to play against.”

Giants Team Report (Yahoo! Sports)
The Giants begin a weeklong trip Friday night, as they head to Milwaukee and then St. Louis to play the top two teams in the NL Central.
They have better records than both, though just barely.
So if the Giants have designs on getting to the playoffs, they ought to make sure to fare well against the Cardinals and Brewers, both fighting for a division title and both probably willing to accept a wild-card berth—just like the Giants. San Francisco enters the trip with the second-best winning percentage in the NL, though it’s further out of first place than any other second-place team in the majors: seven games (after the Dodgers lost Thursday).
The Giants like their chances in the opener in Milwaukee.
Matt Cain will try for his 10th win Friday.
